Dear Con Alma Health Foundation Friends & Colleagues,

This illustration, created at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reveals ultrastructural morphology exhibited by coronaviruses. Note the spikes that adorn the outer surface of the virus, which impart the look of a corona surrounding the virion, when viewed electron microscopically. A novel coronavirus, named Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019.

As the COVID-19 public health emergency evolves, Con Alma Health Foundation will continue to take steps to minimize exposure and slow the projected spread of infection. All staff continue to work remotely and can be reached via email or other means as arranged. All in-person meetings at the Con Alma office are suspended until further notice.

We continue to encourage our partners and friends to follow recommendations from the CDC’s website and the New Mexico Department of Health’s website and other health officials regarding social distancing and other public health advisories, including information on managing anxiety and stress.

Thank you for your understanding and for your efforts to protect the physical and mental health of our people and communities in New Mexico, including those populations that are the most vulnerable. We are grateful to the many people in New Mexico, including our nonprofit/philanthropic sector and frontline healthcare workers and first responders, who continue to support one another and are taking precautions to minimize transmission and practice stress management and other coping strategies during this challenging time.

We continue to update our COVID Resource List and invite you to visit and to engage with us on facebook, LinkedIn, and twitter to stay connected and share useful up to date resources with us.

Please direct any questions to Dennis McCutcheon, Communications & Outreach Coordinator at dmccutcheon (at) conalma.org
